The DOI shall not be liable for any consequential damages, especially lost profits, loss of production, interruption of operations, or loss of data unless such liability should be mandatory by law.

If users access the DOI website they are themselves exclusively responsible for compliance with all local laws.

Disputes arising in connection with the use of this website shall be governed by the laws of Germany. As far as a place of jurisdiction may be agreed between the parties, the place of jurisdiction shall be Berlin.

If any provision of these policies and regulations or the application thereof to any person or circumstances is held wholly or partially invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of these policies and regulations. In lieu thereof there shall be added a retroactive provision as similar in content and purpose to the illegal, invalid or unenforceable provision as may be possible and be legal, valid and enforceable.
